September Blog 2025 Sharing your faith: A call to Boldness

This month I thought it may be helpful to discuss sharing your faith. Perhaps you already do that, or alternatively it may be something you would like to do but it seems a terrifying prospect!

As followers of Christ, we are called to share the Good News, not just in church, but in our daily lives. Jesus’ command ‘The great commission’, as it’s often referred to, wasn’t given only to Pastors & missionaries. It was given to every believer!  Sharing your faith doesn’t require a theology degree or a perfect grasp of all of scripture; for no one fully meets that criteria. 

Rather, it starts with genuine love and a willingness to speak about what Jesus has done in your life. Your testimony, your story of God’s grace and transformation, is one of the most powerful tools you have. The woman at the well did it in John 4 as did the demonic among the tombs when Christ changed his life. 

One thing that is important though is this: don’t just introduce people to yourself and tell them about you. That in itself won’t change them. Introduce them to Jesus! Share the gospel - for Christ and His gospel surely does have power to transform.

Often, evangelism begins in small moments: a conversation with a coworker, a word of encouragement to a struggling friend, or a prayer for someone in need. As you live out your faith with authenticity and compassion, people will notice the hope and peace you carry. At the very least newfound faith does arouse curiosity in others - and that’s an opportunity friends. 

Pray for boldness and for open hearts. Remember, it’s the Holy Spirit who changes lives. We are simply called to be obedient messengers. It is how God operates. This week, ask God to show you one person with whom you can share His love. One conversation could be the spark that changes a life for eternity.
